Hello World,

The first month of the new year has reached its last day. (Although, technically the Lunar Chinese New Year was on the 27th of January.)

In class, with a tank top, two layers of sweatshirts and a bomber jacket plus a jeans and scarf, I don’t think I’m living ‘winter’ right in Savannah, Georgia. I’m drinking London Fog (Earl Grey, Milk and Vanilla) whilst writing this post when I really should be doing homework. I’m in my senior year ~ how time flies ~ and working on my senior collections.

Only now, I have realized I may have chosen the wrong major to be in? Don’t get me wrong I like making clothes and the process of figuring out what goes where and how to construct garments interests me. It’s the designing process and concept development that irks me. After 3 years, and more during my IB years, you’d think I’d have learnt a thing or two by now. No. Concept-ing comes difficult to me.

I do get by, however.

Nonetheless, it is going. My senior collection is going. So is my energy

Until next time,
me

Longest Week

Hello blogging world.

It has been a while since I’ve blogged. About anything actually. It’s been a while since I’ve done anything, or at least, it feels like it. It was finals week last week and it was terrible. I had less than 24 hours of sleep that one whole week and I’ve burned out. On the last class of the week, I was almost bawling during my critique.

But it is over now. Spring break is here. Though, it’s not very spring-like here in Savannah. No sun at all. It’s been a rainy and cloudy and cold 2 days. A good weather to catch up sleep in, but not a very nice one to enjoy a needed break!

St. Patricks Day is around the corner as well. I have heard of the celebrations but never got to experience it last year since I was in New York. I am a bit excited to see and witness how the Savannah-ians celebrate this Irish celebration! Too bad I am underaged…

That’s it from me now, from my sleep deprived head anyway.

Until next time,
me

old vs new

Hello!

So I probably have mentioned a few post back that I have a new laptop. Why I’m bringing this up, you ask? It must be because I haven’t used it for its original and only purpose, which is school work. Yes I have used it, yes I have done school work with it (although barely because my school work barely needs the use of electronics). But it hasn’t left the clean space, aka my bed. That one time it did leave was on a plan back to China. TO another bed.

I think there is something wrong with me.

I guess I just feel like I should use my old one till it dies. Thing is though, I get so frustrated with my old one since its so slow and freezes allllll the time, like, always. But there is an obligation to keep the new one shiny and new, you know? Yet, I am reluctant to get a case because my old one got a few scratches and dents despite having a case and dust collected in it…ew.

The first step is always the hardest…..

When that happens, I will settle with a theme / concept /  idea for this blog because really, I don’t know what is going on here.

Until next time,
me

Early.

Hi!

I don’t know what is up with the Savannah weather. It was 22 degree yesterday and today was cloudy and cold. Shorts were out yesterday and now it is back to scarves and jackets. Make up your mind, weather! Apparently, it’s only going lower from here on…let’s hope not.

So, why did I title this ‘early’. To be honest, I have no idea since I am so late on two months worth of post. I told myself that I would stick with blogging business for a while and yet…… le sighBut! I have been attempting to sleep early and all that shiz before finals roll along, which is pretty soon. Surprisingly enough, I didn’t have a lot of midterm projects due or anything actually. I was pretty free the entire week, but I know that might just be this quarter… Speaking of assignments and projects…I lost the muslins I have prepped and stuff for one of my fashion classes. I had the pattern all transferred and information marked down and then it just disappeared. Nothing I can do now, but gotta work harder on the next few assignments and on the final to keep up with the grades I am getting.

I could go on and on about school, but I don’t think I am going to do that. That was the major school-work related event that happened to me this week..or ever really. Also, I might be, well most likely, taking summer classes this year! Woo!

Until next time,
me

Alohamora

Hi!

I was at Universal Studios Orlando this weekend. I was on a lot of roller coasters and rides. I went on the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit (I think that’s what its called) for the very first time on friday night and it was amazing. I went on it the second time saturday night. There’s just something really special about being on a roller coaster at night. It definitely feels so much better than morning or afternoon.

Of course, the Harry Potter theme parks cannot be missed. It is my main purpose after all. Universal Studios have outdone themselves. It really was a magical experience. I love that they ‘hid’ the entrance to the park. It really brings the magic of Harry Potter to life, I feel. Being on the Hogwarts Express, going into Diagon Alley, going to Hogwarts (my school for life) really brings out a lot of emotions in me that I didn’t think I had in me. The trip on the Hogwarts express from ‘London’ Kings Cross to Hogsmeade brought tears into my eyes and I just…it was amazing. TO end the trip, I had to go back to Kings Cross as a closure, to set it in my mind that I am leaving Hogwarts and the Wizarding World back to the real world (of course I could still go into Diagon Alley in fake theme park London, but that’s another story). I wished I had my camera with me so that I can make a vlog or video for memory sake. Maybe the next trip/ uni grad trip I will do just that. Warm butterbeer – just have to give that a shoutout. it was amazing.

That’s it from me. Too much that I want to share about the park, about this trip. I just don’t know where to start, so, that above was what really stood out to me. Hope you enjoyed.

Until next time,
me

2015

New Year. New Resolutions. New School Year. Not a New Me.

I wasn’t able to finish Blogging 101 course last year, despite taking up the challenge. Surprise.

I wasn’t aware live journal had some troubles loading in China. (Then again, it might have been just my laptop) I didn’t do anything about it. Thus, 6 weeks of no blogging at all for me.

I don’t know if I mentioned this earlier, but I lived in Beijing, China for half my life, so for my six-week winter holiday (a very long, very nice, but still a bit short) I was back with my family in China. Ate a lot, seen a lot, didn’t do a lot. I wish I could post some pictures, but I seem to have brought back the wrong memory card, but I do have some sightseeing pictures with me which I will attempt to upload.

School started yesterday. It was very bittersweet. I’m glad to be back in school, yet, I’m the type that keeps thinking ‘last week this time –blah blah blah’. So I was sad that school started at the same time. Keep in mind, I was with family and friends celebrating Christmas, New Year, the holidays in general. I have friends here, but it just isn’t the same without those that you grew up with…

So that’s the update for now.

Till next time,
me

Emails

I don’t think anyone likes writing and composing emails. Of course, if you do, that’s fine. I don’t like it.

Do you know how stressful I get just to write the first sentence? Or the one that follows? And then the one that follows after that? Yeah. No. But really, I get so stressed out for no reason.

So why am I on this topic?

For one – I just composed one. It took me 3 hours to write it. Okay, so there was procrastination involved, but the mental composition in my head went on in the duration of that 3 hours. I even had to Skype about it. I needed constant supervision just to write it. I even needed, craved, an approval before sending it out.

Yes. I am a college student. Yes. I still need supervision to send an adult email. Yes.

It’s almost embarrassing to write about it. Well, it is embarrassing to write about it. There should be YouTube videos about this. Hey, there’s a thought. I do have thoughts about having a YouTube account for physical blogging. If that made sense. Inspiration: communitychannel. Who I adore. Check her out if you haven’t watched her videos.

Aaannnd I am getting off topic.

That’s marvelous.

Until next time,
me

Dear Imaginary Reader

Hi!

So, I have missed a few tasks for Blogging 101, which I am attempting to catch up on right now. The task for the third day was to write up an imaginary reader, a dream reader. At least, that is how I understood it and really, that is literally the task.

Therefore.

I suppose I have to admit that I have not given much thought into this. I started a blog without a target reader or a focus idea and topic to write about. But. My dream reader, I am hoping, is a normal person who share similar interests with me, otherwise, why else would anyone be reading my blog. I’m not saying I want, but I would like my reader to be interesting and interactive. Maybe even give me constructive criticism or give me advise and stuff, I don’t know.

Yeah, good.

I am really not good at this.

Until next time,
me

Introduction to Me

Hi!

So, I signed up for Blogging 101. I think it is a challenge that is so suitable for me right now. What with the new blogging and all.

The first day of this challenge calls for an introduction of myself, the blogger.

I am a college student studying fashion design in Savannah, Georgia. I am from Malaysia, but I’ve spent half my life overseas in Beijing,China. Very international, but very complicated at the same time. I thought blogging would be a cool way to share my thoughts or just to write. Writing it in a book is just different. There’s no point to it unless there are a lot of fond memories that you would like to remember. I did write journals (or diaries, whatever you prefer) but when I look back at it, all I could think of was how bad my handwriting was and how crazily immature I sound. This was when I looked back a few months later. I am not saying that blogging online would make much difference, but at least I don’t have to criticize my handwriting. (I am also hoping blogging would prevent me from publishing/writing/remembering weird, awkward things I did, but no promises there…shhhh)

I think I will blog primarily about food because really, I cannot cook. I can bake dessert, but not cook food. If I could live off dessert, I would, but no. Therefore, with this year as my first year without cafeteria food and my first year living off campus and my second year without my mum’s cooking, I would like to blog about my experiences with cooking. Maybe it’ll even give you and my parents a few laughs, though hopefully not. I don’t want to rule out other blogging topics such as design because I am studying fashion design and it would be kind of odd not to blog about what I do once in a while. However, I don’t think it will be the majority of what I blog just yet because I just don’t have the clothes and material to do it.

That’s it from me today.

Till the next challenge,
me

Hello!

So today, I attempted to cook proper food. I’m labeling this proper food because for the past 6 to 7 weeks, I have been surviving on cereals, yogurt, more cereals, sandwich, biscuits and chocolate. I made some noodles and pasta, but I don’t think those really counted because it’s not that hard. (I just boiled the noodles and mixed with pasta sauce/soy sauce/oyster sauce)

I made: egg tomatoes.

There really isn’t any proper name that I know of, but in Chinese it’s 西红柿炒鸡蛋 (I had to look it up online), which literally translates to tomato omelets. I think there will be a lot of experimental food coming in the future for me.

Forgive me for this really bad photo.

I didn’t really follow any of the recipes that I looked at, with the exception of how to make the eggs fluffy. I didn’t add sugar or salt because I thought the tomatoes had enough flavour of its own. I also added in some ham, because why not? Ham is good. My roommate even laughed at me while I was cooking. It turned out fine, though I think it is difficult to botch up something as simple as this.

So what is really in the tomato omelet? An egg beat until bubbles appear to create fluffiness; tomatoes for flavour; and finally, ham, which is optional.

That’s it from me today.

Until next time,
me
